Passport Requirement by Land or Sea

WHTI requires travelers to present a passport or other approved secure document denoting citizenship and identity for all land and sea travel into the United States. WHTI establishes document requirements for travelers entering the United States who were previously exempt, including citizens of the U.S., Canada and Bermuda. These document requirements are effective June 1, 2009.

Most travelers will require one of the following documents:

  • U.S. citizens: A passport issued by the U.S. Government, a passport card, a valid trusted traveler program card (FAST, NEXUS, or SENTRI), an enhanced driver’s license (EDL), a Military ID with official travel orders, or a U.S. Merchant Mariner Document.

TO:       MYH Families with Children Participating in the St. Lambert Tournament

FROM:     Bruce Woodfin, President MYHA

The Marblehead Youth Hockey Program will be participating in the Canadian side of the St. Lambert Tournament from Feb. 12-14 2010.  We are very much looking forward to this second part of the tournament.

  A couple of reminders;

· Please make sure you have everything you need, including passports, to make the border crossing smooth

· Please book your room at the Sheraton.  The link to the Sheraton reservation site can be found on the MYHA website.

The Marblehead Youth Hockey Board would like to convey to all families with children in the tournament that we the Board strongly believes that it is in the best interests of both the children and the Marblehead Youth Hockey Program that all participating children be accompanied to Canada by at least one parent.

While we hope that no child in the tournament is injured, becomes ill or is any other way adversely affected during some portion of the tournament or other off-ice activities that are integral to the exchange, it is a foreign country, and we do believe it is important for a parent to be available to their child if something should happen.

We understand that there is a possibility that financial or other considerations may make it difficult for a full family or a partial family to attend the tournament.  I am requesting that if you choose for any reason to send a child unaccompanied by his/her parent that you contact me, confidentially, at 631-5760, or by email at bwoodfin@amgs.com, and we can discuss what MYHA can do to make the inclusion of a parent on the trip feasible.  If for any reason you will be sending a child with another family, you will have to fill out a couple of forms that we have posted on our web site.  These forms must be returned to me by February 8, 2010.

To reiterate—if you are planning on sending a child to St. Lambert without a parent or legal guardian please contact me ASAP so we can work out proper procedures for all involved.

Thank you,

Bruce Woodfin, President MYHAMedical Consent Form
